Ipswich City Council has a sport and recreation facility, the Neville Bonner Sports Complex which is situated at 121 – 135 Briggs Road, Flinders View.

Ipswich City Council has a desire to see this sport and recreation facility utilised and/or managed by an appropriate organisation. The ideal operator would provide a professional management structure whilst maintaining the goals of equity, accessibility, participation and cost minimisation/neutrality.

The Neville Bonner Sports Complex contains the following elements within in an approximate total area of 38,520 square metres (fully fenced):

• One fully lit sports field
• Two mini fields
• One lit training area
• Two full size sports courts with multi-use line marking
• Two cricket practice nets
• Off-street parking
• Kitchen/canteen
• Office
• Amenities
• Storage area
• Meeting area
• Shade shelters
• Barbeque area

Community groups have identified the following potential uses. This list is not to be considered as any formal guide but rather as an indication of the breadth of potential user groups:

• Junior sports
• Sporting presentation evenings
• Youth activities
• Recreation uses
• Training venue
• Meeting venue

Expressions of Interest are called for the management of the whole facility and/or the ground floor with sporting fields and first floor separately or any combination.
