The intention of this Tender is to establish a Standing Offer Arrangement for the Provision of Fluoride for Queensland Potable Water Supplies.

On 5th December 2008 Queensland State Government passed legislation titled ‘Water Fluoridation Act 2008’. The Queensland Water Fluoridation Act 2008 (the Act) requires Public Potable Water Suppliers (PPWS’s) with potable water supply schemes servicing Queensland communities of over 1,000 people from a single source supply to add fluoride to their supply. The programme for the upgrade is required to be undertaken between 2008 and 2012.
The Queensland State Government Department of Infrastructure and Planning (DIP) has appointed the Infrastructure Project Management Group (IPMG), a partnership between Cardno and Beca, to oversee the rollout of fluoridation across regional Queensland.
IPMG have engaged Local Buy to deliver a Purchasing Arrangement to be utilised by all Queensland Councils and government entities that currently operate a water treatment plant and require fluoride supply.
